THE BUSINESS
OVERVIEW
According to IBIS World, for 2018 there are at least 54K tattoo artists in the world. Yet those artists are hard to locate all in one place as their information is spread all over social media and personal websites.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Users need to easily view clientele and tattoo artists' ratings and rates in any given area so that they feel safe in knowing what to expect; whether they are searching for new clientele, local, traveling, or global tattoo artist. Our users also want to be able to preview how a tattoo design will look on their own skin, no matter their skin tone.
We will know this to be true when we see users build up their content on the application, and by the number of downloads around the world.
POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS
Make an app that provides a solution to those issues:
1. lead users through a superimposition tool
2. create a means of easily finding local, global and traveling tattoo artists
3. allow users to easily shop for clientele and/or tattoo artists

WIREFRAMES AND USABILITY TESTING CYCLE
Creating prototypes from low, mid, and high fidelity wireframes were driven by the feedback that was received from the card sorting exercise and repeated usability testing. "Polished" has been the go-to phrase when it came to building each iteration of the application.
CHALLENGES
Through the entire process the main challenge came down to TIME BLOCKING! It is one thing to get things perfect, it is another to complete tasks in a timely manner.

UI DESIGN POLISHING

OVERLAY TOOL
The overlay tool gives users the freedom to superimpose tattoo designs on their own skin.
ONBOARDING
During usability testing, it was discovered that users did not even use the onboarding; so that user flow was adjusted to spotlight that feature from the beginning, right after opening the app.

CREATING A TATTOO ARTIST & COLLECTOR COMMUNITY
From user interviews, both Tattoo Artists and Collectors wanted to feel safe and heard by others. Also, during usability testing users did not use the artist or collector gallery page; so the Gallery page was renamed to Community.
